Families that buy into a conventional timeshares must spend an entire week at that same destination which doesn't always work out with your travel plans. Members of the disney vacation club do not have to work around that unpopular restriction. Each member can spend as little as one day at any of the accommodations that are made available to the Club’s membership.
Unlike the old timeshares, the Disney version of shared vacation property operates on a points system. A family buys a certain number of points each year. Those points then allow that family/member to decide when and where it wants to go, when visiting any of the Club's resorts. Each room or suite at each resort has been given a certain point value. The resort’s operators then keep and display a points’ chart. The Club members who visit that spot can study that chart and learn the value of each room/suite. Such an examination reveals the savings available to those who do not follow the crowds. Any room’s point value increases on weekends and holidays. In other words, members can stretch their allotment by visiting any of the Club’s locations on a weekday.
Those who love to travel the Fort Myers region are likely to enjoy sanibel island condo rentals. These condominiums sit on a ten mile long stretch of beach. The west end connects to Captiva Island; the east end puts the visitor closer to Fort Meyers. At both ends visitors can select from among a large group of luxury condos and private beach villas. Many such accommodations offer a view of the Gulf of Mexico. All of them come with a fully equipped kitchen, free Wi-Fi, a washer/dryer unit and more than one cable TV. In deference to each member’s personal preferences, some rooms/ suites have been designated as non-smoking areas, while other lodging facilities remain pet-free.
